Carbon Monoxide detectors should be replaced as needed
Personal experience has taught me that I need to think differently about the carbon monoxide detectors in my home. This teaching moment came to me when we discovered the heat exchanger in our 5 year old furnace had a broken seal and CO readings were exceeded 125ppm. When we checked our CO detectors they were over 7 years old. Since the recommended replacement cycle is 5 years, we thought it would be wise to replace them. Take the time to check the ones in your home. Here is a web link from the Missouri extension service http://missourifamilies.org/features/housingarticles/housing7.htm

Learning to listen to expectations
Listening to the anxiety that underlies a Sellers description of their home is just as important as capturing the facts about the property. Afterall, this is a transaction whose success hinges on the feelings of both the Buyer and Seller. In this uncertain market the extra helping of anxiety that the Seller serves up at the Listing Presentation table, makes listening and discerning the potential trouble spots critical to successfully engaging the Seller.
It is prudent to make sure that the Realtor lays out all the services that they should expect to receive. Deliberately, piece by piece, so that there is clear understanding of the value that the Realtor is bringing to the table. Sometimes a summary at the end of the Listing presentation helps to cement benefits that have been presented.

National debt crisis has implications for Real Estate.
This is worth repeating because the stakes are high for the impact on Real Estate if the politicians do not strike a compromise on resolving the stalemate in managing the debt.
